The town of South Fork is surrounded on three sides by the Rio Grande National Forest and
some of the largest, undisturbed wilderness areas in the country.
Winter activities are abundant, with snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross country skiing, and of
course the Wolf Creek Ski Area is located only 17 miles west, with the most snow (powder) received
in Colorado.
